hi! you know, i'm really never here - though i still find the energy to keep up with all the latest zefron drama somehow on ontd. my birthday was about two weeks ago. it was sweet. whitney, kristen, and dave came up and showered me with presents, liquor, and love. i begin missing them immediately after they left. a lot of the time i'll sing inspiration whitney houston songs to myself to get through the loneliest hours here! not really, i just listen to a lot of abba, read, and remember what it was to be HIGH.
i'm at work right now, at kolbo, taking a break between receiving shofarot and mezuzot and all sorts of GNARLY jew-ware. i tried to save all my money to go do classes at harvard for the fall but not having a job for the first six weeks i was here sort of but a damper on that plan. who knows though! i've got almost enough right now (if i refuse to pay rent outright on grounds of personal edification); i could be taking swedish and/or the madness of crowds by this time next week, elbow to elbow with the harvard luminaries, swept up in witch-fever and conjugating the verb alsket. alskan? i might never know the lovely svensk infinitiv!
but you know, if i don't blow all my money on my brain, i'm in the market:

and these:
.
you know, i've looked for them forever and thought i'd have to save for the moschino girls ones that came out last year. dora, i know you pined with me.
speaking of clothes and things only the two of us care about, yeah yeah yeah, i really wasn't down with too many of the s/s 2008 shows. kris van assface really can't hold a candle to my hedi - and what's with the disappearance of all the 14 year old nymphs from dior homme? and of any street fashion or anything besides tuxes in general?! whenever you stop believing, a fairy dies: van assche has instituted fantasy nymph genocide.
the bests, for me, were pretty surprising. i mean, prada and miu miu were grossly over-disco (miuccia <3's coke), and viktor & rolf were like, pretty yachty. alexander mcqueen was good/crazy and always is, but maybe that's just cause he plays to my tastes. this time: surfers, skaters, kustom kar kommandos:

yohji yammamoto had too many cargo pockets (for me, any external pants pocket is TOO many!), but got ginger points and the superlative for most creative use of suspenders:

raf simons is just incredible, because he wants to go hiking on the moon and i love him a million bucks:

i liked the minimalist bike messenger aesthetic calvin klein's adopted since the eponymous/terrible pop left it in better hands:

lanvin was great because it brought home seventh seal dressing gowns:

and out jil sandered jil sander (plus, perfect shorts-length shorts):

and this guy:

but best of all, and totally surprising to me, was GUCCI. who knew?! same thing as ck, essentially, now that tom ford is out of the picture, it's fun and crayola pants:

this is really righteously italian, in a sleek 1960s playboy way, not in a sweaty 1990s guido way (i.e. tom ford's old guard):

and this is best of all:

really!
no dots, just feathers.
